We told you so! ISP One pulls the proverbial plug on Kogan.

Its not as if this wasn’t predicted a long time ago…in fact within days of the Kogan plans being announced. You cannot sell something for half of what it costs and expect to remain in business. It was always going to end in tears.

The big question now is what happens next?

Well for a start if anyone wants to port their mobile to another carrier in the next 4-8 weeks be prepared to wait. 120000 mobile users have to move from Kogan/ISPOne to another provider if they want to keep their mobile number. The Mobile Number porting Authority hasn’t got unlimited resources so for a while there is going to be a huge bottle neck on mobile ports for everyone.

Then there’s the question of wheres the money? Many Kogan customers paid for 12 months in advance. We will make the assumption that Kogan has that money and was paying a monthly invoice to ISP One. That would mean Kogan has Pro Rata balance of the cash in the bank and should repay it ….. but is that how things will pan out? Who knows?
